The head office of Mott MacDonald Ltd, one of the largest firms of consulting engineers in the UK, required the replacement of the existing R22 water chillers, with a requested increase in output, the replacement of the main chilled water circulating pumps, and the replacement of the existing fresh air supply system, along with associated control valves and the installation of a new runaround heat recovery system between the building extract systems and the new fresh air unit.

Two new Aermec twin screw water chillers, having a total cooling output of 1000 kilowatts, were installed, using a 500 tonne telescopic crane.

In addition, we manufactured and installed new maintenance platforms and walkways to suit the layout of the new equipment, for safe maintenance.

The entire project was carried out during the latter part of the winter, and was completed in four weeks. The chillers, of course, were back in operation within five days of the contract start date.
